My Grandmother, her Fabric Store, her Wardrobe, Millinery Hats, Collages by Ruth Van Beek & my Alter Ego
I dedicated this mini-project to my grandmother, nicknamed Mamour, who had a very present role in my upbringing especially in developing my love for fashion. I spent all of my childhood weekends with my grandparents in Brussels and have had many moments that shaped me in that house. I got passed down all of her perfectly tailored clothing and learned so much from her as she had such an iconic eccentric style and nonchalance about her. So I wanted to create an alter ego of how I would present myself if I dared, my most extravagant version wearing beautiful vintage hats, clashing patterns, scarves and embellished as if every day is a special occasion.
