The artist I choose from the Venice Biennale is Anicka Yi, who works on sculptures, paintings and installations using unorthodox materials that engage the senses and combines the world of fragrance, cuisine and science. She often collaborates with chemists, biologists and engineers in art leading to scientific innovations and new materials. I was mostly drawn to her conception of biomimicry: designs that are modelled on biological processes, such as the process of the cocoon or growing of bacteria.
