Surrealist Automatism, Subconscious Psychology, Irrational Juxtaposition, Inanimate Human Body, 20th Century Chair Design & Vintage Factory Garments
This collection is based on the concept of automatic surrealism. The art form rebelled against the constraints of the rational mind and believed that free association could lead to artworks not intended to be beautiful but as portals to our intuitive imaginations, enabling us to develop perceptions and insights beyond logic or reason. Referred to as objective chance, they believed in the idea of discovering strange magic in mundane things, as anything could speak to the observer. Therefore, opening a conduit to one's unconscious and revealing a network of correspondences. For the silhouette, I was looking at the Surrealist imaging of the woman as an inanimate form, transforming the human body into a geometric assemblage.
